Touching the Mountain
Enjoy the incomparable beauty of the alpine mountains and deep gorges. Start the day with a tour to the mount Aragats, the highest point of the Lesser Caucasus and Armenia. Visit Amberd (the”Fortress in the clouds”) located 2300m above sea level and resting on one of the slopes of the mountain. Built over а Stone Age settlement, it still amazes the visitors with its splendor and turbulent history. The following stop is Saghmosavank, a medieval Armenian monastic complex overlooking the gorgeous Kasagh river canyon, but on the way have a stop at Alphabet Alley, the monument dedicated to the invention of the Armenian 39 letters over 1600 years ago.
